Origin offers a direct-current power supply to meet the usage needs of our customers. This power supply is a fusion of the low-voltage technology such as that used in rectifiers for communication that output at 48 V DC; and the high-voltage technology used for power supply units, such as those used in forming semiconductor film that output at 1000 V DC. The photo shows a rectifier with an input of 200 V AC and an output of 380 V DC at 15 kW. Both a voltage doubler resonant circuit (high voltage) and split-type three-phase power factor correction (low voltage) are used, making a highly efficient and compact rectifier a reality. The efficiency at maximum is 96%.
Higher density and larger electrical usage applications are becoming more prevalent, and coming up with a solution using calculations by hand or experiential methods is becoming more difficult. By conducting studies using thermal fluid simulations in the initial stages of design, we reduce the number of prototypes required, which cuts down on development time. The photo shows a 48 V DC/50 A rectifier, used for commutation devices for mobile communication bases (outdoor specs). By conducting thermal fluid simulations for study during the initial stages of design, we are able to make a rectifier that is 1/3 the size of the previous product a reality.
Our condenser-type resistance welding technology allows for the energy stored in the condenser to be released instantly to provide a large amount of current in a short period of time. This makes it possible to create joints with a beautiful finish, with a minimum of thermal effect and distortion. This also makes joints possible on nonferrous and hybrid metals.
Putting our experience with CD/DVD mass production devices since the 1980s to use, we are expanding our market share of application and bonding devices for smartphone FPDs and other devices.
With a focus on the optimum coating pattern design and bubble-free air bonding used in each device, as well as high precision surface coating and vacuum bonding, Origin is actively involved in applying our technology to new uses other than FPD.
This is a flux-less soldering technology with no solder spatter. This highly reliable technology is appropriate for power devices and other devices that require high-grade soldering.
Since our beginnings in the development of paint as part of our research in metal process surface finishing in 1947, we have proven results as a pioneer in paints used for plastic materials in many fields both in Japan and overseas, including automobiles, cellular phones, personal computers, digital cameras, home electronics, and more.
We have developed products to meet the needs of our customers, including many revolutionary synthetic resin paints. In particular, our major product, the "Origiplate Z" paint used for chrome plating, has been used by customers around the world to this day since its release.
Origin has been manufacturing new products with a high degree of added value that are not only well designed but are highly functional. These products include our "UV Coating TP" adhesive for touch panels—which have grown in demand in recent years—as well as our "Origicool" infrared reflective thermal insulation paint, developed to help counteract the heat island effect that is prevalent in metropolitan areas.
This diode features rapid and soft reverse recovery characteristics. Origin provides a lineup of diodes offering voltages of 600 V–1700 V and currents of 30 A–400 A, to meet varied customer needs.

While we may not always see precision machinery parts in our everyday lives, they all play an important role as functional parts in a wide range of areas including OA devices, automated ticket machines and game machines. In particular, the one-way clutch, the torque limiter and the interactive clutch are products that all use tribological technology, a core technology of our Motion Technologies department. This technology contributes to making devices that are more compact, conserve energy, and are simple in design.
